AN IMPORTANT REMINDER FROM PETERKLUSZCZYNSKI AND JACK VAN BYNEN


NORTH YORKON- Softball Ontario’s ProvincialUmpires-in-Chief Jack
Van Bynen and Peter Kluszczynski want to remind you ofimportant
deadlines for Ontario’s Umpires:

UmpireRegistration ApplicationDeadline    

August 30, 2008 is the final deadline for allUmpire Registration
Applications for Fast Pitch and Slo-Pitch to be receivedat the
Softball OntarioOffice      
Umpire Carding*Deadlines 

May 30,2008 – All Fast Pitch and Slo-Pitch Exams must be in to
the Softball Ontariooffice for all umpires to be eligible to
work at any Elimination     Tournament, Grand Championship,Provincial
or Canadian Championship, or for  those who wish toremain in
the Development Pool list. 
August 20, 2008 – Final deadline for all FastPitch and Slo-Pitch
Umpire exams to be received by the Softball Ontariooffice 
Softball Ontario'sSlo-Pitch Provincial Umpire-in-Chief, Jack
Van Bynen encourages all Umpires inOntario to act before the
deadline: "Once you register and card withSoftball Ontario you
become a member of the best Umpires Program inCanada where the
opporunities and services are second tonone.  I can not stress
enough by registering and carding withSoftball Ontario you provide
yourself with the two important pieces ofequipment: accident
and libalbity insurance coverage and testing yourknowledge of
the rules by reading the Softball Canada Rule Book and completingthe
Softball Canada National Umpire Exam".  While Softball Ontario'sFast
Pitch ProvincialUmpire-in-Chief, Peter Kluszczynski adds "It
is important that allSoftball Ontario Umpires who are attending
a Provincial or CanadianChampionship(s) become a member of Softball
Ontario and complete their examsfor the May 30, 2008 deadline.
 I am proud to be a Softball Ontarioregistered and carded Umpire
and encourage all Umpires in Ontario to do justthe same".

* Please note the term ‘Carding’ or ‘Carded’ refers toan Umpire
who has written the Softball Canada National Umpire Exam.  Oncea
successful mark is achieved depending on the level of the Umpire,
a SoftballOntario / Softball Canada Umpire Card is issued.  An
Umpire can not be considered ‘Carded’ until he or shehas successfully
completed the Softball Canada National Umpire Exam.
