                                                      The Rick
McDonald Memorial Fastball League regular schedule is fast coming
to and end with only eight games to go including  four rain outs.As
you will notice with the attachments the race for first place
and the president's cup is real tight [only four points separate
the top three teams].Its an important battle with the top two
teams getting a bye to the semis.The bottom three are also in
a real tight battle to earn home advantage for the quarter finals.In
the batting crown unless  Corey Farmer(712) has a complete collapse
he should win the title already leading by at least 90 points.It
looks like Eric Abitong(4-1) of the Cardinals will win his second
pitching crown in three years.Come out and see the remaining
games which will all be probably in a playoff mood.
                                                     The interest
in the ladies section of the Northerns is rising .Friday evening
I received six different calls from across the province [Aurora
Diggers;Byron Blaze Midget II ;Byron Blaze Junior !;Chatam Intermediate
Ii;Hamilton Elites Intermediate II and the Palmerston Marlins
Junior I ]. These are not confirmed entries but strongly interested
which is good.All teams have till August 5th the deadline.
                                                      Congratulations
to one of our officials that of Shayne Malone who will be officiating
in the Canadian Pee Wee girls championship in Quebec (near Montreal)
from August 13th to 17th .Our hats are off to you Shayne
                                                     In a meeting
on Sunday the final site for the Northerns will be decided.
