Day Four of the

Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship

(Team CANADA/Team USA Marquee Game Series Started Today!)

 

The Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship continued
today and softball fans flocked to Softball City to enjoy a tight
match between Team CANADA and Team USA. Today was the last day
for round robin action at the Futures (U19) and Showcase (16U)
female youth tournaments and day four of the tournament was highlighted
by perfect ballpark weather.

 

The first of four marquee games between Team CANADA and Team
USA kicked off today. Both teams proudly took to the field, and
fans were treated to a showdown between some of the brightest
lights of softball. The game went into extra innings with nine
innings played, but the win went to Team Canada with the score
4-3 Team CANADA.  After the Team Canada victory, excited fans
lined up for The Province/Team Canada autograph session.

The stakes are raised tomorrow (July 9) as it marks the start
of the Futures and Showcase playoff rounds. Games begin at 8:00am
at Cloverdale Athletic Park and 10:30am at Softball City, Surrey,
BC.  The Futures and Showcase Championship finals take place
on Sunday, July 11 at Softball City. 

 

The marquee game series with Team CANADA vs. Team USA continues
tomorrow at Softball City, which runs to Sunday July 11 with
a game per day.  The game time tomorrow and Saturday is at 7:00pm,
with Sunday’s game slated for 3:30pm.
