KFC World Cup of Softball V Preview

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 
July 20, 2010 

Canadian Women's Softball Team to Compete in KFC World Cup of
Softball V 

(Oklahoma City, OK) The Canadian Women's National Team, fresh
off a Bronze medal finish at the ISF XII Women's World Championship
earlier this month, will open their KFC World Cup of Softball
V schedule against the United States on Thursday, July 22 (8:00pm,
EDT). The event will take place from July 22 to 26 in Oklahoma
City, OK, where Canada, Japan, the United States and the United
States Futures National Team will compete. Also featured during
the KFC World Cup of Softball will be the second edition of the
Men's Slo-Pitch Border Battle, which will consist of a one-game
showdown between Canada and the United States. The game is scheduled
for 4:00pm EDT on July 24th at Hall of Fame Stadium, and will
air LIVE on TSN. 

The United States (Gold), Japan (Silver), Canada (Bronze) all
competed at the 2010 ISF XII Women's World Championship in Caracas,
Venezuela. The United States Futures National Team features some
of the best upcoming American players from the NCAA ranks, with
most players having competed against Canada in a six-game exhibition
series last week in Surrey, British Columbia and Whitehorse,
Yukon. 

The two preliminary round games between Canada and the United
States will air on TSN, as the first game will air at midnight
EDT in the early morning of July 23, while the second game will
air at 11:30pm EDT on July 25 (replay at 3:00pm EDT on July 26).


The Gold Medal Game will also air at midnight EDT in the early
morning of July 27, with a replay of the game airing at 3:00pm
EDT on July 28.
