LORDS READY TO TAKE TO THE FIELD FOR THE 20-INNING CHALLENGE

Lords ready to take to the field for the 20-inning challenge

OSHAWA, Ont. - On Monday, September 20 at Durham Field on campus,
fans will get to watch their fair share of baseball as the Durham
College fastball and baseball teams are taking part in the second
annual 20-inning challenge.. First pitch for the exhibition fundraiser
is at 6 p.m.

The unique 20-inning challenge game between the freshmen and
seniors is taking place in support of the women’s fastball trip
to Nationals, which runs from October 8-10 in Saskatoon, SK.

The game will be free to the public and there will be plenty
of great prizes to be won. There will also be a bar-b-q set up
for fans to enjoy. Players on both teams are also raising money
by getting donations per inning played.

Lords veteran Nur Osman of the Durham baseball team is excited
to take part in the 20-inning challenge in an effort to assist
his fellow Durham College student-athletes.

“All of the guys on the team wanted to help out the fastball
team in their pursuit of a national championship," said Osman.
“They have an excellent team and anything we can do to help out
is our pleasure.”

The Lords men’s team is also eyeing a national championship in
2010 as they hope to qualify for their sixth straight national
championship, which takes place at St. Clair College from October
22-24, 2010.
