Elkland Fastpitch Tournament Updates (5-10-2012)
Elkland, PA - The following are updates on each of the remaining
tournaments hosted by the Elkland Softball Association for the 2012
season. Here are the details on these 3 events:
The 6th Annual Molly Sherman Memorial Tournament
May 25th - 27th (Monday, May 28th - Rain Date)
Entry Fee: $300 per team
16 Team Limit
3 game guarantee
ESA Pitchers Restriction List will be used
Prize Money: 1st Place - $1,200, 2nd Place - $600, 3rd Place - $300
*Champions of this tournament will receive free entry fee into the 2012
Durk Sherman Classic Tournament
Currently 12 teams have expressed interest in attending this year's

60th Annual Durk Sherman Holiday Classic Tournament
August 31st - Sept. 3rd
Entry Fee: $250
24 Team Limit
3 game guarantee
Any class of pitching allowed
Prize Money: 1st Place - $2,500, 2nd Place - $1,200, 3rd Place - $600,
4th Place - $400, 5th Place - $100, 6th Place - $100
For the first time in the 60 year history of the Labor Day Tournament in
Elkland, PA, the Elkland Softball Association will serve as an
international qualifying tournament for the 2013 ISC World Tournament.
Elkland will have two bids to award at this year's Tournament.
The first bid will be for an ISC Canadian East berth for 2013. The
highest placing Canadian East team will earn the berth. The team winning
the Canada East berth will have to follow the same roster "rules" as
other teams that win berths a year in advance (must return at least 50%
of the roster they qualified with, players can leave the roster to
attempt to qualify with another team, but they can't return to the
roster). Last season Elkland had 5 teams (33% of the participating
teams) from Canada participate in the 59th Annual Durk Sherman Labor Day
Classic event.
The second bid will for an ISC US East berth for 2013. The highest
placing US East team will earn the berth. The team winning the US East
berth will have to follow the same roster "rules" as other teams that
win berths a year in advance (must return at least 50% of the roster
they qualified with, players can leave the roster to attempt to qualify
with another team, but they can't return to the roster). Last season
Elkland had 10 teams (66% of the participating teams) from the US East
participate in the 59th Annual Durk Sherman Labor Day Classic event.
Any interested teams in this event, this is a 24 team limit tournament,
with a 3 game guarantee (all for a $250 entry fee), can contact ESA
