The Ed McCormick Hall of Fame tournament in Erie has expanded to 10 teams for 2012.     The format is still being figured out and will be announced soon with the pools and schedule.    

Argentina's Jr Men's National team had been scheduled to play an exhibtion in Erie on Thursday Aug 2 vs. the Erie city league "All Star" team,  then proceed to Elkland PA for the NAFA Northeast Super Regional.  Unfortunately, the NAFA tournament canceled leaving the Argentine team without a place to play and the expense of their plane tickets already purchased.   It is an awful situation for them to be in, and I felt adding them to the Erie tournament was the right thing to do.  

Joining Argentina will be the Elkland PA team featuring Greg Garrity and (hopefully) Andrew Putnam pitching.  Erie fans and teams support the annual Elkland PA Labor Day tournament and it's nice to have their competitive team come over to this side of the state.   They will have good pitching and have a nice team that may surprise a few people.  

It's my hope to get a couple teams to play games on Friday night.    A 3rd field will be used for the additional games on Saturday, which is less than 1/4 of a mile from the 2 main fields.
