Subject: NY Safari Swashbucklers Results - Boston Shootout

The # 24 ranked NY Safari Swashbucklers went 4-1 over the weekend, losing in the championship game of the Boston Shootout. In round robin play on Saturday, Swash defeated Blackburn 6-3 (WP - Mach, LP Archibald), Donnaconna Blue Sox 5-1 (WP - Johnson, LP - Leclair), and Donahue Flyers 11-0 (WP - Mach, LP - Billings) to finish 3-0 and earn the #1 overall seed. Sunday's semi-finals saw Swash defeat Paul Algar and the Sea Dogs 4-0 (WP - Johnson, LP - Algar) behind a 2 hit, 13 strikeout performance from Josh Johnson before losing a hard fought game to Mitch Hardy and the Fredericton Twins 3-1 in the finals (WP - Hardy, LP - Mach).

The offense was lead by Mike Bourbakis (5HR, including a 3HR, 7RBI game against Donahue), Josh Johnson (3 HR), Kris Bogach (2HR), Mike Hoadley and Steve Mullady. Jonas Mach and Johnson each picked up two wins on the mound with Justin Zimmerman picking up a save.

The NY Safari Swashbucklers are off this weekend before heading to Erie, PA the following weekend in their final tuneup before the World Tournament.
