Subject: Update: 2012 ISC Under-21 World Championship Aug 16-18 (Midland, MI)

July 27, 2012

Midland, MI

Planning for the 2012 ISC Under-21 World Championship is almost complete.
The tournament is scheduled for Aug 16-18 in Midland, MI, during the final
weekend of the ISC World Tournament. Building upon the success of the 2010
ISC Under-19 event, we have attracted 15 talented teams to this year's ISC
Under-21 World Championship.

Our vision for the ISC development tournaments in 2010 and 2012 was
two-fold: (1) create a format which attracts strong competition for young
players, and (2) expose young talented players to the best teams & players
in the world. The fundamental goal is to motivate and inspire these young
players to become future stars.

To offset costs for the tournament, we are pleased to announce that the
2012 Midland ISC Host Committee & the Midland Explorer Booster Club has
obtained a grant from the Midland Area Community Foundation (MACF) which
will cover all entry fees for the 2012 tournament. This generous donation
by the MACF is specifically provided for the costs associated with the ISC
Under-21 Development tournament. It is intended to encourage
participation by lowering cost of attendance, while also increasing
exposure to the game's future stars.

Fans and team supporters should brace to see a very high level of play
during the ISC Under-21 World Championship. Some of the attending players
are already supporting members on men's World Tournament teams. In
addiiton, I am estimating around twenty pitchers in the tournament will
reach speeds of 70-75 mph or higher. Please make a point to follow these
games either in person or through the game scoring and highlights provided
by the ISC over the internet.

We have been expecting a full field of 16 teams, however, we were informed
recently that one of the teams previously committed would not be able to
attend. The list of 15 teams that have accepted bids for the tournament is
shown below. If you would like to be considered for the final spot in the
event, please contact me at lachdavid(at)gmail.com or 810-623-2276 in the
next few days. Although we would be very proud to have a strong 15 team
tournament, we would like to reach our goal of attracting 16 competitive
teams.

Thank you for your interest. We look forward to seeing everyone in Midland
in a few weeks.
