</b></font><font face="arial">The Ontario Amateur Softball Association

announced at their annual general meeting, held recently in Peterborough

Ontario, that Kitchener has been chosen as the location for the 2005

Men’s Senior/Intermediate Elimination Tournaments. The tandem tournaments

will be hosted by Kitchener Fastball Promotions, a non-profit group made

up local minor sports and charitable organizations. Teams will be

competing for the right to represent Ontario at the 2005 Canadian Senior

Men’s Championships in St. Thomas, Ontario August 28<sup>th</sup> to

September 4<sup>th</sup>, 2005.<br>

“We are very pleased to able to bring this event to Kitchener, which is

historically a hotbed of fastball in Ontario” said David Cleugh,

President of the OASA.<br>

The tournament will take place July 29<sup>th</sup> to August

1<sup>st</sup> at the Peter Hallman Ball Yard in Kitchener, the same

facility that hosted the International Softball Congress World Fastball

Championships in 2002 and will again host it in 2006.<br>

Rick McBay, Tournament Chairman, said “Kitchener Fastball Promotions is

looking forward to the opportunity to once again showcase some of the

best fastball players and teams in </font>Canada at the Peter Hallman

Ball Yard, which is considered to be one of the finest softball

facilities in the country.”<br>
