while but the Niagara Falls Men's league wrapped up last night with the Niagara
Snappers capturing the 2011 championship with a convincing 10-2 victory over
Niagara Fury to sweep the best of 3 final. A combination of the Snappers who hit
the ball really well all playoffs and some sloppy Fury defense resulted in the
lopsided score. A Trevor Falk HR and Ryan Rothwell triple sandwiched around a
couple Fury errors put the score at 4-0 after one, the Fury would leave the
bases loaded in the B1. A Scott Young triple in the third is cashed by a
Matt Lyons to make it 5-0, and Rothwell would later cash another 2 runs with a
single after another Fury error to make it 7-0. Ray Carr puts the Fury in
the board with a HR in the 5th but Young and Lyon doubles in the
sixth eventually tacked on additional runs. Scott Wagar and Tommy Watkinson
would each double in the B6 for another Fury run but Lyons gets out of the
inning to complete the game. Lyons wins it for Snappers and Wagar takes the
loss.</FONT><BR><FONT size=3 face="Times New Roman">The League would like to
congratulate the Snappers on their win. The last order of business for
2011 will be the leagues annual year end banquet on October 15th at Hooligans
bar. I will update the award recipients and provide a league wrap
up.</FONT></DIV>
