KidSport Ontario was recently announced as a recipient of a $50,000 Grand Slam Grant from the Toronto Blue Jays Foundation which will provide over 250 children across Ontario with a season of baseball or softball. The funds will be dispersed through the KidSport grants program to under-resourced families who are unable to afford the cost of softball registration and equipment for their children.<br>
<br>
“We see our partnership with the Toronto Blue Jays and the Jays Care Foundation as a natural fit”, expressed Dawn MacDonald, Executive Director of KidSport Ontario in their April 19, 2011 News Release. “It is through partnerships such as this one that we continue to grow our impact in Ontario, reaching out to thousands of kids annually”.<br>

Softball Associations who have players that may qualify for KidSport Ontario Funding should refer them to the KidSport Ontario website at <a href="http://softballontario.us2.list-manage.com/track/click?u=71a17dfff5844262b6f3e33e9&id=0f39e02d6c&e=6c4e4fbfff" style="color: #336699;font-weight: normal;text-decoration: underline;">www.kidsportcanada.ca/ontario</a> to fill out a Grant Application. <br>
<br>
KidSport Ontario provides grant assistance to children 18 years and younger who are facing financial barriers preventing them from taking part in organized sport. Grants range from $50 to $250 and go towards registration and/or equipment costs. In 2011 over 60,000 kids across the country were supported by KidSport grants.<br>
