As a change for 2013, this<br>year's tournament will be limited to ASA Class B pitching and below<br>(non-major pitchers). Pitcher's not on the Michigan ASA pitching list<br>must be pre-approved by the tournament committee prior to the<br>tournament. The pitcher restriction is being used as an experiment in<br>2013 to both align the competition level to the host team (a C team of<br>mostly 19-23 year olds), as well as, provide a competitive tournament<br>for traditional "league teams" - which some consider the life blood of<br>the game. Although this format has limited the # of all-star weekend<br>teams in this year's tournament, it will certainly provide the most<br>evenly competitive tournament in years.<br><br>The format for this year's tournament will be a 3 game round robin<br>followed by 3 divisions of single-elimination playoffs (an 8-team<br>championship bracket, a 4-team B bracket, and a 4-team C bracket).<br>All playoff games will be played on Sunday, while all round robin<br>games will be played on either Friday or Saturday.<br><br>The list of teams that have reserved a spot for this year's tournament<br>is shown below.
