Perkasie PA Rise, 8, Bob Hoffman Garage, PA – 1

The Perkasie Rise of Pennsylvania eliminated the tournament’s Cinderella team, cross-state rival Bob Hoffman Garage of Reading, PA, 8-1 in 6 innings. Rise shortstop Matt Daley had 5 RBI for the winners, while Mike Smith notched the win. Rise Fastpitch will advance now to the third round, and face the Kitchener ON Outlaws, who defeated the California Lumberkings, 2-1 in 9 innings.

Kitchener Phoenix Outlaws ON 2, California Lumberkings 1, 9 innings

Kitchener ON Outlaws and the California Lumberkings were scoreless through 7 innings, with Dan Martin on the mound for the Outlaws and Darren Strang going for the Lumberkings. Each team scored a run in the 8th, shortstop Carlos Flores driving in the run for California, and Kitchener scoring theirs on an infield out. Brian Teeters just missed a home run, hitting one to the warning track and Flores preventing a run from scoring by snaring a liner towards left to end the 8th inning. California failed to move the runner or score in the 9th. Kitchener won the game when Tim Du Boise hit a flair single to center with the runner scoring.

Tavistock ON 3, Elora Wellington ON Brewers 0 (no hitter by Ryan Cummings)

Tavistock’s Ryan Cummings tossed his second no-hitter of the tournament, a 3-0 win over the Elora Wellingtno Brewers. Tavistock will face the winner of the Port Elgin vs. Bridgeport game, which is just underway at 1pm on Ballparkradio.com

Palermo ON Athletics 8, Elmira ON Cubs 5

The Palermo Athletics overcame a 5 run deficit in the 6th inning for a come-from-behind 8-5 win over defending 2005 ISC II Champions, the Elmira Cubs. Gord Scott was the winning pitcher, striking out the final out of the game with the bases loaded in the 7th.

Port Elgin ON Blue Devils 5, Bridgeport ON Braves 2

Port Elgin pitcher Scott Christie went the distance for the win, while Aaron Whitney struck the big blow, a 3 run homer in the 3rd inning.

Palermo 8, Elmira Cubs 5

The Palermo Athletics overcame a 5-0 deficit with 8 unanswered runs in the 6th inning, to eliminate the defending ISC II champs, the Elmira ON Cubs. Gord Scott retired the final batter with the bases loaded to secure the win.
