\nIn the bottom of the 3rd, the Selects score again as Ben Wideman drives in Andy Skelton.
\nIn the top of the 5th, Palermo mounts a comeback with 3 walks, a single and sacrifice fly to make it 4-3 Owen Sound.
\nIn the 7th, Palermo ties it as Jamie Robinson walks and moves around on a wild pitch, single and scores on a fielder’s choice.
\nThe Selects did not threaten in the bottom of the 7th and the game ended 4-4

\nOS VW Jr…0..0..0..0..0..1..0………1<\/p>\nPalermo opened the scoring in the first as Jamie Robinson smacked a double, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on a passed ball to make it 1-0 Athletics.<\/p>\n
There was no scoring until the 4th, when Palermo made it 2-0. Mark Cameron walked, moved to second on another walk and scored on an rbi single from Brian Prowse.<\/p>\n
In the 5th, Palermo sealed the win with 3 runs. Tom Berube was driven in by Mark Korten to make it 3-0 and the A’s got two more on an infield error to make it 5-0.<\/p>\n
In the bottom of the 6th, Brick Brothers got on the board when Matt Murphy bunted for a single, moved up on an error and scored on a hard line out to centerfield by Dylan Cunningham.<\/p>\n
Gord Scott pitched a very effective game for Palermo, giving up 4 hits & striking out 8.<\/p>\n
Defence was also sterling for both teams.<\/p>\n
For Palermo, Shortstop Tom Chater made two excellent plays in the 2nd inning, while Korten at first base also made a good play to preserve the lead in the 5th.<\/p>\n
For Owen Sound, Darren Newson displayed a rifle arm cutting down both an attempted steal and later a bunt. Plus, Rightfielder Matt Kuhl chased down a fly in the corner, wheeled and double the man off first base for an inning ending double play<\/p>\n

\nOS VW Jr…0..0..0..0..0..0..0………0<\/p>\nBob Blamauer opened the scoring in the top of the 2nd with a solo homer. Brick Brothers avoided further damage in the inning by turning a rapid 5-3-6 double play.<\/p>\n
In the 4th, Palermo extended the lead to 2-0 as Pitcher Tom Berube got aboard and scored on an rbi single from Chris McColl.<\/p>\n
In the 6th inning, Palermo broke it open with another 3 run inning. First, Brad Robinson crushed a solo home run over the fence in centerfield. Cyril Knibbs followed a few batters later with a 2 run homer in the leftfield corner to make it 5-0.<\/p>\n
Palermo complete the scoring in the 7th as Dave Kingdon got on with a fielder’s choice, and scored on Blamauer’s single.<\/p>\n
Berube went 5 scoreless innings for Palermo to get the win, giving up 3 hits.<\/p>\n
Chris McColl pitched the last two innings, retiring the first 5 batters in order, loading the bases and then getting Matt Kuhl to end the game with a flyout.<\/p>\n
