This weekend the Alvinston Indians were hosts for the third annual Jimmy Shaw Memorial Fastball Tournament. The team battled mather nature for a second year in a row, as the diamonds needed a lot of work on Saturday to keep the tournament going. 11 teams competed in the tournament. Alvinston was 5-0 in the Jimmy Shaw Memorial Fastball tournament, their second straight tournament victory. Two weekends ago they went 5-0 in the Glencoe Tournament, defeating the #20 ranked Glencoe Astros, and the #37 ranked Highgate Rock in the finals. They had four shutouts in the five games that weekend, and allowed only two runs. The Alvinston Indians now have a winning streak of 14 games including league action.<\/p>\n
