\nPalermo Athletics came to Niagara-on-the-Lake to take on the Snappers in
\ngame #9 and #10 of the Schneider’s ISC Alliance schedule. Great pitching
\nwas the highlight of the night as Palermo and Niagara split the
\ndoubleheader. That leaves Niagara Snappers 4-2 in the ISC league on the
\nseason. Next action for the Snappers is on Thursday May 26th as the open
\ntheir GHFL season with a double header at home.<\/p>\n

Game #9<\/p>\n

Palermo 6 (wp – Gord Scott 7IP, 2R, 5H, 14K, 1BB)
\nNiagara 2 (lp – Byron Demoe 6IP, 3R, 7H, 7K, 4BB) (relief – Jim Wilson 1IP,
\n4R, 5H, 2K,)<\/p>\n

Niagara Snappers struck first when, in the bottom of the first inning Scott
\nYoung tripled with 2 out and the clean-up hitter Mike Bateman cashed him
\nwith a 2-run home run. This would be all the Snappers could muster against
\nGord Scott on the night as he shut them down the rest of the way. Palermo
\nchipped away at the lead and finally took the lead in the top of the 5th on
\na fielders choice by Bob Blamauer . Palermo added some insurance in the top
\nof the 7th to seal the victory.<\/p>\n

Game #10<\/p>\n

Niagara 3 (wp – Dan Duemo 7IP, 2R, 7H, 11K)
\nPalermo 2 (lp – Mike Joseph 6IP, 3R, 6H, 6K)<\/p>\n

A pitching duel dominated the second game of the doubleheader. Dan Duemo
\nimproved to 3-0 in ISC play by shutting down Palermo’s explosive hitters
\nwith some crafty pitching. Game was tied heading into the top of the 6th
\nwhen Brian Prowse lead off with a single and 2 batters later, a double by
\nBob Blamauer brought him home to put Palermo up 2-1 heading into the bottom
\nof the 6th. Niagara struck back when Scott Young, Mike Bateman and Dean
\nCarr hit consecutive singles men on base to score 2 and put Niagara up 3-2.
