\nFor Kitchener, Ron White hit a solo home run in the 2nd inning. MVP of the Game: Sam Forbes singled in two runs in the 1st inning. Kitchener were eliminated from the tournament in this game. Bridgeport moves on to play Patsy’s at 1pm.<\/p>\nInteresting to note that this game featured the Host team for the 2006 ISC World Tournament being held in Kitchener, August 11-19 AND the Host team for the ISC II Tournament of Champions being held in Kitchener and Cambridge August 13-18. Also interesting to note that both pitchers are well known in the area and are named Todd, Winkworth for Bridgeport and for their cross town friends, Martin for Twins.<\/p>\n
If anyone ever had any doubt about the quality of play one can expect at an ISC II tournament, this game in particular, and the play by both the Braves of Bridgeport and the Cubs of Elmira, should put it to bed for good. Both teams played their hearts out and went home proud. They also behaved like gentlemen on and off the field all weekend. Congratulations to both the Braves and the Cubs. Larry Lynch and his group did a good thing bringing in these two popular local teams.<\/p>\n
