Kanata also played Fitzroy Harbour to a scoreless<br \/>\ndraw over seven innings, with Dan Konkle throwing a three hit shutout.<br \/>\nKonkle had both wins for Team Easton.  Team Easton&#8217;s defeat was 3-1 at home<br \/>\nto Shawville in interlock play &#8211; Bill Gerber took the pitching loss.  Team<br \/>\nEaston will be picking up some players from the 56ers for the ISC II<br \/>\nQualifier in Blackburn on June 24-26.<\/p>\n<p>UOVMFL Defending Champions, Micksburg Twins (ISC II #21) defeated Shawville<br \/>\n4-1 at home to start the season.  Kevin Humphries had a homer for the Twins.<br \/>\nIn interlock play Corey Costello threw a perfect game, including 18<br \/>\nstrikeouts, in a 10-0 win at home against Manotick.  Jamey Mick had a home<br \/>\nrun for Micksburg. Corey Costello suffered a rare regular season loss on May<br \/>\n16, as cousin Shawn Costello led Beachburg to a 2-0 victory.  Micksburg will<br \/>\nalso be participating in the ISC II Qualifier in Blackburn, bolstered with<br \/>\nadditions from the Beachburg league team.<\/p>\n<p>Manotick won their first two games, with Trevor Lahey getting both decision.<br \/>\nLomor defeated Fitzroy Harbour at home in their first game with Don Cox and<br \/>\nBobby Jack Hart hitting home runs in a 6-4 victory.  Manotick also defeated<br \/>\nStittsville 5-0 with Lahey throwing a no-hitter.  Lindsay Medynski had a<br \/>\ngrand slam for Manotick and Tim Power had a solo shot.  Manotick will be<br \/>\nparticipating in the ISC II Qualifier in Blackburn and the &#8220;masters&#8221; aged<br \/>\nplayers on the team will also be participating in the World Games in<br \/>\nEdmonton.  Manotick will be hosting a tournament the weekend of June 3-5 to<br \/>\nhelp raise funds for this trip.<\/p>\n<p>Stittsville started slow with losses to Kanata and Manotick but rebounded<br \/>\nfor victories against Blackburn Bombers (8-0) in interleague play and<br \/>\nCampbell&#8217;s Bay (8-2) in interlock play.  Dan Bradley had all the pitching<br \/>\ndecisions for the 56ers.  Home run hitters for Stittsville were Scott<br \/>\nHerriott, Darren Featherstone, Greg McMillan, Ryan Bond, John Craig and Sam<br \/>\nOliver with two in the Campbell&#8217;s Bay match up.<\/p>\n<p>Fitzroy Harbour lost to Manotick in their first game, with Bud Hanlon taking<br \/>\nthe loss.  Jason Armstrong and Shawn Rebertz hit homers in the 6-4 defeat.<br \/>\nThe next game saw the WC Electric tie Kanata and Dan Konkle 0-0.  Three<br \/>\nElectric pitchers combined to limit Kanata to two hits.  Fitzroy Harbour<br \/>\nalso participated in the Kingston tournament over the May long weekend,<br \/>\nfinishing with a disappointing 0-3 record.  Fitzroy Harbour will be<br \/>\nparticipating in the ISC II Qualifier in Blackburn.<\/p>\n<p>Campbell&#8217;s Bay Royals started off strongly with convincing 10-1 and 9-1 road<br \/>\nwins over Beachburg and Shawville respectively.  Veteran lefty Lenny Burger<br \/>\nhad both wins for the Royals.  The home opener did not go as well as<br \/>\nexpected for the Royals as they lost 8-2 to Stittsville in interlock play.<br \/>\nMatt Greer had two homers during May for Campbell&#8217;s Bay.<\/p>\n<p>Beachburg started slow with a 10-1 loss at home to Campbell&#8217;s Bay, but then<br \/>\ndefeated defending champions Micksburg 2-0 at home.  Shawn Costello had both<br \/>\npitching decisions for Beachburg.  Beachburg was scheduled to play Fitzroy<br \/>\nHarbour in interlock play but the game was postponed and will be made up<br \/>\nlater in the season.<\/p>\n<p>Shawville began the season with two losses (4-1 to Micksburg and 9-1 to<br \/>\nCampbell&#8217;s Bay).  However, the interlock game on the road with Kanata got<br \/>\nShawville in the win column with a 3-1 victory, with Mark Wright notching<br \/>\nthe pitching victory.
