Moses Lake, WA … JRW & Associates of Yakima, WA defeated the Spokane Souvenirs 8-2 in the championship game of the 2nd Annual Columbia Basin Fastpitch Invite in Moses Lake, WA on Sunday May 19th.
Most Valuable Pitcher Sam Aldridge only gave up 3 hits and struck out 12 in the championship game. The two runs that were allowed were a 2-Run home run by Nick Leva which was totally lost in the sun.
Most Valuable Player and Designated Hitter Tom Magers batted .500, had a double and a two-run home run. His 3 RBI’s contributed to breaking up two close games to aid in JRW wins. Tom will celebrate his 60th birthday at the NAFA West Masters in Carson City on September 13th.
Tournament host K-Club defeated Interbay Door of Seattle for 3rd place. Mike Kolda and Ricky Kolda of K-Club are to be congratulated for conducting an excellent tournament. Ground prep was outstanding and the tournament package was excellent.
A special treat for the fans for the weekend was observing the planes that passed directly over the playing field during their landing pattern. We were treated to many up close observations of Boeing’s new 787 in the two days of the tournament. The airfield in Moses Lake is Boeing’s practice facility.
