Christi Orgeron’s summer is picking right up where her junior season ended.
The UL slugger has gotten off to a great start as a member of the U.S. women’s national team through its exhibition season.
Orgeron has started in three games and is hitting .500 (4-for-8) with two homers, six RBIs and five runs scored.
The senior-to-be made her debut in the second game of a doubleheader on June 25 against the Junior National Team and went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer.
On Friday, during a doubleheader in Bowie, Md., Orgeron hit her second homer of the summer as she went 2-for-3 in an 11-0 win.
The U.S. National team swept the Junior National Team in six exhibition games by a combined score of 60-2.
The U.S. team will now head to Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, for the Canadian Open FastPitch International Championship, which will be held July 9-17.
After that, the team will head to the World Cup of Softball VI in Oklahoma City on July 21-25.
