We regret to report the passing of San Diego area fastpitch player Dennis Neuman.
Funeral service information, courtesy of Ron Wood Sr.:
The softball community, of San Diego, has lost another of its players. Dennis Neuman, recently passed away from cancer. Dennis, along with Danny Regas, were the best ambidextrous players I ever saw. Infield righthanded, outfield lefthanded. Great ballplayers. RIP Dennis, too young at 52!!

Editor’s note: Dennis was a former teammate of mine, on the Vista Bombers, in 1985, later with the San Diego Hilltop Tire Eagles, and again with Vista Rangers in 1989, photo below) Strong as a bull, and one of the genuinely nicest guys around. As Ron Sr. mentioned, he is often remembered for his ambidextrous throwing abilities. The hit I recall the most was a missile of a home run against the legendary Long Beach Nitehawks that left the yard in record time. Dennis also served as an assistant high school football coach to our fellow Vista Bomber teammate, Steve Miner. Much too young to leave us, Dennis was 52.
Dennis is shown in photo below, the Vista Rangers, 1989, middle row, third from right, our first ISC World Tournament
