From Erie Tournament Director Bill Hillhouse:The last few months have been difficult for me personally so please forgive he lack of updates concerning the Erie PA tournament. That has been some adding and subtracting to the teams coming which has made it hard to keep track of things. Subtraction of teams comes from a team folding and another losing sponsorship dollars to attend. But the replacements for those teams are ones the fans who love fastball will be happy to see on the East coast. As I figure out who all is coming, here is the current list of teams:
NY Gremlins
Peligro Gremlins
Hill United
Scarborough Force
Toronto Gators
CPI
Bloomington Stix
Circle Tap
Hallman Twins
Other teams have expressed interest and I may be missing someone who is confirmed but, this is what I remember off the top of my head. I may have space for one or 2 more teams who want to face the world’s best before heading into the ISC World Tournament the week after.
Jay Hart will again be he UIC and be bringing ISC umpires who will be getting their final work in before the ISC tournament. Al Doran will be on hand to provide speedy updates. And preliminary negotiations are underway to potentially have Ballpark Radio on hand.
With going to 12 teams, I will be using 3 fields with the 3rd field less than 1/4 of a mile from the 2 main fields. I will be making the schedule after the release of the ISC tournament bracket so I can keep teams apart from each other in pool play that may see each other quickly in the ISC World tournament.
$4000 winner take all prize money is on the line for this year’s Ed McCormick invitational tournament.
