Yesterday it was number # 4 ranked Scarborough force eliminated from the 2015 ISC World Tournament.
Today, another top-five team was outsted, last year’s runner-up and # 2 ranked team in the world, the Kitchener Hallman Twin. Last year, the Twins fell into the losers bracket early but battled all the way back to the championship game finishing as the runner up in the 2014 tournament. In 2015, it was local rival the Kitchener Cubs, who prevailed in a Wednesday afternoon contest. The Twins were down late in the game 5-2, and battled valiantly, trimming the lead to 5-4, but were unable to catch the Cubs.
Robbie Greene and Andrew Putnam combined for the win for the kitchen or Cubs. Blake Underwood had three hits for the Cubs while Bob Gillow drove in two runs. Jeremy Manley took the loss for the Hallman Twins.
The Cubs will now take on the Peligro Gremlins, at 9:00 AM on Thursday, August 13, 2015.
