Quarter now are members of defending champions of five major fastpitch titles
Jason Hill’s three-run home run in the top of the sixth inning wound up being the decisive hit in the Hill United Chiefs’ 6-4 win over the Toronto Gators in the championship game of the International Softball Congress World Tournament Saturday in South Bend, Ind.
The defending champion Chiefs, based out of Ohsweken, Ont., were undefeated on their way to a third straight ISC title.
Brad Ezekiel of Harbour Main hit a solo home run and Freshwater’s (Placentia) Stephen?Mullaley scored on the homer from Hill, a native of St.?John’s.?The team also includes coach?John Hill of St.?John’s.
Ezekiel, Mullaley and the two Hills — father and son — were also part of Hill United’s title win at the ASA?championship and were with Team Canada for its gold-medal wins at the world championships in Saskatoon and Pan American Games in Toronto. Click here to continue reading at The Telegram.
