NY Gremlins beat the Elmira Expos 8-0 in five innings on Monday after a six-run explosion in the fourth inning.
NY Gremlins scored in the fourth on a solo home run by Bryan Abrey, a three-run home run by Mathieu Roy, and a two-run home run by Blair Ezekiel.
NY Gremlins hit four home runs in the win. Additional home runs for NY Gremlins came when Ladlisao Malarczuk homered in the first inning.
Malarczuk had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the first inning, doubled in the third inning, and singled in the fourth inning.
Andrew Kirkpatrick recorded the win for NY Gremlins. He pitched five shutout innings. He struck out eight, walked one and surrendered three hits.
NY Gremlins’ Ezekiel, Abrey, Roy and Malarczuk combined for seven hits and eight RBIs.
Dan M was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
The game was never in doubt after the first, as NY Gremlins scored one run on a solo home run by Malarczuk.

The win runs the Gremlins record to 2-0, and pits them in a winner’s bracket quarterfinal Tuesday night at 6PM CDT Tuesday night, August 16, 2016 against the BC A’s, who won their second game of the tournament Monday, in 14 innings against the NE Drillers on a Greg Garrity walk off home run.
