From Dennis Frye:

The Midwest Stampede in Thrilling fashion WON in the 8th inning, to rally and Capture the Prize against a Very Tough Townline team from Green Bay 8-7 on Sunday afternoon . They also met on Saturday night and went back and forth in a see-saw affair , coming out on top 8-5 ! The Fast-pitch action all weekend had to deal with Strong winds and Sprinkle’s but The Higher Power wanted Softball at it’s Finest to be on DISPLAY for ALL who were here to Experience the Atmosphere .

The Grill was smoking with Brats and Burgers and Fans were gasping for air as one hard hit ball was snatched in mid – air or Cleared the Fence ! Radar guns were showing speeds in the 80’s , The Blasting sound of Metal was heard everywhere in Elkhart from the Train tracks and The Batter’s Box ! The sound of Leather was heard often as These Talented and Gifted ATHLETE’s were diving and Gunning Runner’s out all weekend . Blow HORNS let passing traffic know that The Stampede had something exciting happen on the field as they rang out to ADD atmosphere to Memorial Park ! Manager’s and The Blue Crew were sometimes discussing dinner arrangements . The Stampede opened on Friday and faced A & L Farms from Omaha and Veteran Pitcher Darrin Dubsky. A 9-1 outcome ended , with a Saturday 3-2 win against Kegel from Morehead Minnesota , to set up a REMATCH with Townline and its only loss of the season.

A Fantastic weekend of ball was kicked off with The Midwest Stampede sharing a Thursday evening with The Iowa Cubs.
