Five Members of Italian Athletic Club Make All American

The Italian Athletic Club of Stockton went 4-0 over the weekend, beating New Image out of Wisconsin 11-3 in the championship of the men’s ASA A-Division fastpitch national championships in Kansas City, Mo., on Sunday.

Tony Peeples, one of the IAC’s two pitchers, was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Chase Turner, Steve Pinnocchio, James Butler, Jason Porto and Tony Peeples were all named All-Americans.

In the championship game, Turner went 3 for 3 with five RBI, Pinnocchio was 2 for 3 with two stolen bases and a three-run homer, and Eddie Brooks singled, scored twice and drove two runs,

In four games, the IAC outscored its opponents 23-7.
