ICE – “In Case of Emergency”

This one doesn’t exactly fall under the heading of fastball, but with so many of us on the road for tournaments and such, it seemed worth mentioning.

Paramedics in some cities are encouraging people to enter “ICE” numbers into their cell phone contacts. “ICE”, as in “In Case of Emergency”. Here’s what they suggest:

By entering the acronym ICE – for In Case of Emergency – into the mobile’s phone book, users can log the name and number of someone who should be contacted in an emergency. So that paramedics can easily contact your loved ones just in case. Several different contacts should be noted ICE1, ICE2, ICE3, etc.

A good idea.
