The Fort Worth Cats baseball team open their home season tonight in Fort Worth, Texas, against the Shreveport Louisiana Captains.

A little bit of irony in opening with the Shreveport Captains. In 1990, my brother broke his neck and was hospitalized in Shreveport, Louisiana for a month or two. (he’s fully recovered, thankfully). I took in a Captains game during my visit to see him there, and the team called him to wish him a speedy recovery. Twenty years later, the Captains have come calling once again.
