1º Torneo del Hemisferio Sur – Argentina 2010

La Confederación Argentina de Softbol se complace en anunciar que ente el 17 y el 20 de junio se disputará en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires el 1º Torneo del Hemisferio Sur – Argentina 2010, con la participación de las selecciones femeninas de Argentina, Nueva Zelanda, Sudáfrica y la Selección Argentina Sub19.

El torneo está organizado en conjunto por la Municipalidad de Pilar y la Confederación Argentina de Softbol, y se disputará íntegramente en el diamante de aquella localidad bonaerense. Cabe destacar que en una primera instancia el Club Náutico Hacoaj organizaría este evento, pero desistió de hacerlo debido al retraso en las obras de su nueva cancha. Por ello, el Municipio de Pilar y la Confederación Argentina tomaron la posta y continuaron con esta iniciativa.

Esta competencia le servirá a las Selecciones de Argentina, Sudáfrica y Nueva Zelanda de preparación para el Campeonato Mundial Femenino ISF, que se disputará en Caracas, Venezuela, desde el 23 de junio (es decir, tres días después de la finalización de este torneo). Argentina y Sudáfrica integran el Grupo A del Campeonato Mundial, junto a Japón, Canadá, China Taipei, Cuba, Holanda y Gran Bretaña. Por su parte, Nueva Zelanda integra el Grupo B del Mundial, junto con Estados Unidos, Australia, China, Venezuela, Botswana, República Dominicana y República Checa.

Además, la Selección Argentina Sub19 se prepara para que Campeonato Panamericano de Softbol, clasificatorio para el Campeonato Mundial 2011 a disputarse en Sudáfrica.
