County Materials Rallies to Top Farm in ISC World Final

County Materials of Marathon WI rallied for 3 in the bottom of the 7th to tie the ISC World Championship game, then scored one in the bottom of the 8th to win the 2005 ISC World Championship at Eau Claire, WI.

The Farm took a 3-0 lead into the 7th inning, but a lead off walk and two home runs tied the game at 3. Donnie Hale hit the game tying home run, a monstrous tee shot that was estimated at 350 feet to left center field. Korrey Gorreau was relieved by Paul Algar after Gorreau surrendered the three runs and walked the next batter. Algar escaped a bases loaded jam with two 3-2 counts, before recording the last out of the inning on a low liner in the gap to left center by a diving Ryan Wolfe.

The Farm went three up and down in the top of the 8th inning, but County Materials put two on and scored the game winning run on a single by Ken Kiefel. Jarrad Martin singled to open the inning. After two strikeouts, a walk advanced Martin to second, before Kiefel’s game winning single to left.

The Farm’s Korrey Gorreau was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Pitcher, while Colin Abbott, also of the Farm was the Most Valuable pitcher.

The order of finish for the Final Four:

First place: County Materials, WI
Second place: The Farm Tavern, WI
Third place: Hallman Twins, ON, Canada
Fourth place: Circle Tap, WI
