R & W Plumbing of California 2nd at ASA 45+ Nationals

With pitchers Cary Weiler, Russ Snow and Keith Frey, R & W Plumbing, CA took 2nd place among 28 teams at the ASA 45-and-over Nationals at Fond du Lac, Wisconsin this past weekend, pushing eventual champion Plannger’s Furniture to the “if” game. The California squad was 6-2 on the weekend, dropping the winner’s bracket final to Plannger’s, then knocking off Texas to get back to the final, winning the first championship game before losing the rubber match in the “if” game.

Former Long Beach Nitehawks Terry Canale and Cary Weiler of R & W Plumbing were selected First Team All Americans, as was teammate Bill Newell. Russ Snow, Pete Duenas and Pete Turner of R&W earned Second Team All American honors.

Where is Fond du Lac, Wisconsin you say? About an hour North and a bit west of Milwaukee, Wisconson. Did I miss something, or was there a news blackout during the tournament?
