So Cal fastball fans will spot a familiar name on this roster. (See roster below) The pitching staff of Todd Martin, Paul Koert and Dan Martin should put the Twins in good stead. Martin is coming off an outstanding performance at last year’s ISC World tournament, including a 20 strikeout game. Koert impressed at the 2003 and 2004 ISC World Tournament, while young Dan Martin helped pitch the Port Elgin Blue Devils to a runner-up finish at the 2005 ISC II Tournament of Champions at Chippewa Falls, WI. Dan is just 19, up from the Jr. program, and has served notice that he is a force to be reckoned with at the ISC II level. Martin and Koert might be the best righty-lefty combo in the game.

Regards,

Editor’s note: So Cal fans will remember Shackleton as the player who drove in the only run in the Twins 1-0 win over Team Rainey in last year’s ISC World Tournament at Eau Claire, WI, in a classic pitchers duel between the Twins’ Todd Martin and Rainey’s Rick Smith. Our best to Derek for a speedy recovering from his injury.
