LEARN TO PLAY/BLASTBALL ATTENDS CANADA DAY CELEBRATIONS

Learn to Play/BlastBall attended Canada's 137th Birthday at Downsview
Park on July 1.

Softball Ontario's Participation Committee, working together with
KidSport Fun Zone, along with other sports groups such as wrestling,
boxing, tennis, soccer and women's hardball attended Canada Day
celebrations at Downsview Park along with thousands of spectators in
attendance.

It was a tremendous day for our sport of Softball as Committee Members,
Ken Uyesugi and Irv Bruck, demonstrated the program of Learn to
Play/BlastBall to well over a hundred enthusiastic kids and parents.  It
was a great feeling watching the youngsters playing BlastBall and
running to the honking base and seeing their smiling faces and hearing
their joyful laughter as the base honked.  It was not just a one-time
tryout for the kids; they kept coming back several times to join in the
game, each time with the same eagerness.

We handed out much literature and information to many parents who were
eager to find out where they could register their young children in
softball.

Both Ken and I had a very rewarding and satisfying day and it ended,
appropriately, with the singing of the Canadian National Anthem.

Look for Learn to Play/BlastBall coming next at the Molson Indy!  We
will be there for four days!
