The Wyevale Tribe's annual fastball tournament went this past weekend (July 
2, 3, 4), and was a wonderful success.

9 Men's teams competed in a double knock out tournament that saw the 
Milverton Millwrights defeat Minesing in the final on Sunday earning them 
the championship.  Milverton went undefeated during the tournament, but 
were put to the test by both Minesing and Aurora who lost 1 run decisions 
to Milverton.  Other teams included:  Elmvale, Barrie, Toanche, 
Orangeville, Toronto (Bingo's), and Vasey.

5 Women's teams competed in the other side of the tournament.  They also 
used a double knockout format, and in the end mother nature made the 
decisive call on this one as the final game was called due to 
rain.  Colossal came into the finals undefeated, but lost the first game to 
the Phelpston squad who had lost earlier in the tournament.  That set up 
the rematch just 90 minutes later which was rained out.  Other teams 
included: Elmvale, Midland, and LaFontaine.

The Wyevale Tribe would like to thank all participants, including players, 
umpires, and fans, for their support and we look forward to an even bigger 
and better tournament in 2005.  The dates for next year's tournament will 
be July 1, 2, and 3.  We would like to increase the size of both sides of 
the tournament, so if you are interested please email Shane Bywater
