LEARN TO PLAY/BLASTBALL GOES TO THE NATIONALS

"Learn To Play" Initiation Program to be held at Canadian Softball
Championship in Oakville ON

(Toronto, ON) On Sunday August 15th, Softball Ontario, in conjunction
with Softball Canada, will be putting on a free "Learn To Play" program
for kids between the ages of five and ten, at the Pee Wee Girls Canadian
Softball Championship. The tournament runs from August 11th until
August 15th at Trafalgar Park in Oakville, Ontario. The free,
interactive and fun clinic takes place from 10 until 11 Sunday morning,
followed immediately by the bronze and gold medal games.

Softball Canada developed the Learn To Play Program in 2003 after
responding to the need to increase participation in softball and to
change the game of T-ball. The Learn to Play Program is a revolutionary
softball program designed to address the specific needs of 5-10 year
olds. It promises an hour of fun, games and activity set up to develop
the players' individual softball skills and build participants'
confidence. In Learn to Play, the players are broken down into small
groups where they are involved at all times and can get the required
repetitions to make improvements in skill development and feel that
sense of accomplishment that increases their self-confidence.

It is a program that
· introduces Softball to children in a Revolutionary way
· ensures children have Fun while improving their fitness and developing
their skills
· is Action packed
· fosters Success for all ability levels
· has Easy to Follow lesson plans for new and experienced coaches
· contains activities and lead up games that are patterned after
informal Playground Games
· gives every child more opportunities to develop softball skills
because everyone is Active for every minute of every session
· is Nationally recognized and approved

The Children will participate in a lesson plan from the Learn To Play
program and be instructed by qualified coaches. In addition to the free
skills instruction, all participants will also receive a free t-shirt,
