The Kemptville area Men's Fastball league standings as of July 30 are as
follows:

1. Manotick Lomor Printers........9-2-1 - 19pts
2. Kanata Team Easton.............6-4-2 - 14pts
3. Stittsville 56ers..............6-4-1 - 13pts
4. Fitzroy Harbour WC Electric....4-6-3 - 11pts
5. Kemptville Macton Muckdogs.....0-9-3 -  3pts

Notes:

Manotick retained first place with 4-0 record in the month of July.  Lomor
Printers veteran pitcher Dave Nicholson is still undefeated with 5-0 record,
including a 2-0 shut out over Dan Konkle and Team Easton on July 21.
Lindsay Medynski had two homers in July while Mike "Pudge" Branchaud, Don
Cox, Lyle Schell, Tim Power also contributed with home runs.  Lomor Printers
also journeyed to Ausauble Forks, New York for a tournament July 9-11 where
they finished with a 2-2 record.

Kanata Team Easton moved up from fourth to second during the month with a
3-1 record.  Their only loss came to first place Manotick.  Dan Konkle threw
a 2-hit shutout over Fitzroy Harbour on July 20.  Todd Fraser continued with
his hot bat and had another home run this month, with John Peck also hitting
one out in July.  Team Easton also participated in the "Bay Bash" in
Campbell's Bay, Quebec on July 9-11 and finished third of eight teams with a
3-2 record.

Stittsville 56ers had three games postponed in the month and went 1-1 in the
two games they did play.  Stittsville put up big numbers in a 12-4 victory
at Kemptville with Greg McMillan and Dan Jessiman hitting home runs.  Dan
Jessiman also scored the only run in a 4-1 loss July 7 to Team Easton,
hitting a solo shot.

Fitzroy Harbour slipped down to fourth in the standings with 0-3-1 record
during July.  The only points for the West Carleton Electric were in a 1-1
home tie versus Kemptville on July 6, where Bud Hanlon threw a strong game
but didn't get much offensive support.  Fitzroy came close with a 3-2 loss
to Team Easton on July 28.  The Electric had 7 hits on Dan Konkle in the
game and ended with a runner called out at the plate in the top of the
seventh on a close call. Fitzroy Harbour WC Electric has registered as an
OASA "C" team and will compete at the 12-team provincials in Wiarton, ON
from Aug 14-15. The Electric will also be hosting a tournament on the
weekend of Aug 27-29 with teams from all around the Ottawa area expected.

Kemptville Macton Muckdogs still continue to search for their first league
win of the season with a 0-3-1 record in July.  The only point in the month
was the 1-1 tie in Fitzroy on July 6 where Brad Porter scattered seven hits.
Kevin Collins and Bruce Buckland hit homeruns for the Muckdogs in July.  The
Muckdogs also participated in the Campbell's Bay Bash tournament and
finished fourth with a 2-2 record.

The league playoff format will be 4th vs. 5th in a best-of-3 with the winner
to play the first place finisher in a best-of-5 semi-final.  The 2nd and 3rd
place teams will also play off in a best-of-5 to determine the other
finalist. The finals are slated as a best-of-5 series.

The Kemptville Thunder tournament team, compiled from players from Easton,
Muckdogs and the 56ers, remained ranked #1 for ISC II in Ontario and the
continent.  The Thunder continue to prepare for the ISC II tournament in
Fargo, ND in mid-August and plan to play some exhibition tune up games
before they depart.
