  Tournament.....


         Victoria Traveller's Inn Fastpitch Team have captured the title at the
Vancouver Challenge Tournament in Vancouver, B.C. this weekend.
         Traveller's Inn defeated Olympia Morgan Transfer 1-0 in the final game
Sunday afternoon.  Korrey Gareau was the winning pitcher.  Dan Whiteford
scored the game's only run on an RBI single by Craig Crawford.  Olympia had
defeated Portland to reach the final game.

         Next action for Traveller's Inn will be at the ISC World Championship
Tournament in Fargo, North Dakota, which runs August 13-21.

         Traveller's Inn finished round-robin play Sunday morning by beating
Portland DeMarini 5-0, as Rick Smith fired a 2-hitter.  Catcher Craig
Crawford hit for the cycle, scored 2 runs and had 3 RBI's.  This win
clinched first place for Traveller's Inn and advanced the team straight to
the tourney final later Sunday.

In a late-finishing round-robin game Saturday night, Vancouver Grey Sox
defeated Traveller's Inn 3-2.

         Traveller's Inn opened play Saturday afternoon with a 7-0, 
5-inning win
over Olympia Morgan Transfer.  Collin McKenzie and Korrey Gareau combined to
throw a 1-hitter - McKenzie went the first 3.3 innings, recording 7
strikeouts, while Gareau finished , allowing just the one hit and fanning 4.
CF Jeff Hurford powered the offence, going 2-3 with a 3-run home run.
         In their second game of the day, Traveller's Inn defeated the 
Vancouver
Premier League All-Stars, also 7-0 in 5 innings.  Rick Smith fired a
no-hitter in this game, and Doug Cain belted a 3-run home run.
