Niagara Falls, ON

The Niagara Snappers have done it again.  The last three weekends have 
resulted in three tournament titles for the Snappers, as they capped off 
and impressive run with the "A" Championship this past weekend in the 
Niagara Falls Tournament.  With tournament wins in Lockport NY (July 
23-25), Snapper Shootout (July 31-Aug 1) and now Niagara Falls, the 
Snappers are clicking on all cylinders and are finding a variety of ways to 
win ball games.

In the Final, the Snappers were awarded the victory when Toronto CDS was 
disqualified from further play after several ejections, which was low 
lighted by a "spitting" display this writer was embarrassed to even 
witness.  A crowded Ker Park watched on as a dark mark was stamped on the 
sport of Fastball.  In the bottom of the 4th, an unknown CDS player spit in 
the direction on a Base Umpire after being ejected and then proceeded to 
spit directly in the face of the home plate Umpire.   At that point the 
game was called and the Snappers were awarded the tournament championship, 
although being down by a 6-4 score.

It was a true shame that a great weekend of Fastball was capped off by such 
a display.

The Snappers went undefeated this weekend going 4-0 before the shortened 
Final.  Here is a look at the Snappers results from round robin and semi 
final play.

The Niagara Snappers would like to thank Al, Janet and Rob Greatrix along 
with all the tournament volunteers for all thier hard work and devotion to 
the game of Fastball in Niagara Falls.  Great job folks and hope to see you 
all next year.
