Hi Al
As has been reported on your site the last few days, it was indeed an 
interesting weekend in Niagara Falls.

The annual Men's League tournament wrapped up Sunday with Niagara Snappers 
winning the A division final by default when Toronto CDS was disqualified 
in the 3rd inning. CDS was ahead 6-4 in an intense game that had a little 
of everything before it was called.

Niagara Falls has hosted its annual tournament for many many years and this 
was the first time we encountered a situation like this.  It was ugly and 
to make matters worse it was witnessed by a large Sunday crowd at Ker Park. 
The game was very entertaining to that point and the ending was a shame. 
The organizers of the tournament are going to address the situation and 
make the necessary changes to assure it's not repeated. Up to that point 
the tournament was a tremendous success with large crowds and a sold out 
field of 18 competitive intermediate teams. The Niagara Falls Men's League 
extends a thank you to all teams that participated (less one) and all fans, 
volunteers, minor fastball for running the barbeque and all who have 
reported accurately and fairly on the events unfolded particularly in the 
finals. Again Al and Janet Greatrix along with Herb Beckman (Central 
Collision), Craig Smith (Red Hot Chilli Pepper) and Dave Rotella (Cool 
Hand  Lukes) were the key players running an event that seems to get better 
with each year. We hope to see you all back in 2005.
