JRW and Associates win Squeaker at ISC II

Late Wednesday night at the ISC II Tournament of Champions in Fargo, ND, the
JRW & Associates team from Yakima, WA advanced to the second round of
elimination play with a 9 inning win over the Sioux Falls (SD) Sox.

In the win over the Sox, JRW pitcher Dave Drotzmann struck out 11 and walked
two. Dave worked out of several jams as the Sox lead-off reached base in 5
of the 9 innings. The Sox took a 1-0 lead on a walk, sac and two wild
pitches.

  Lead-off Don Cawthron of JRW tied the game at 1-1 with a 6th inning HR over
the CF fence.

In the top of the ninth, Sox pitcher Shane Bauman struck out his 20th
batter, but not before JRW scored a run on 1B James Munson's single, LF Bob
Harris' Sac and RF Steve Drissel's two out game winning single.

The Sox placed 2 men on base in the bottom of the ninth, but Drotzmann
struck out two and forced a game-ending ground-out.

Pitchers Dave Drotzmann and Shane Bauman last faced each other in Sioux
Falls, SD in a winner's bracket game at the 1993 Jr Men 23U Nationals. Shane
was victorious in that game as brother Todd hit a game winning HR.
