The # 3 seed Aurora Leghorns swept the # 6 Whitby Eagles in the best 2 out
of 3 series in Oshawa City and District Softball Association quarter final
action last night in Aurora with a 4 - 3 victory.
The Eagles scored 2 in the top of the first on a BB, sac,BB, 1b, BB, sac fly.
The Leghorns responded in the bottom of the second, after their first 3
batters were Ked by Jason Swift, with a 1b, WP,1b, 2R -HR, 3b to score
3 runs and never looked back. They also scored their fourth run off
reliever Ryan Swift in the third when they 1b, 1b, 3b.
The Eagles were able to get 1 back in the top of the fifth with a BB, WP
BB, Sac fly.
George Karkambasis allowed 2 hits, but gave up 8 walks for the victory.
Todd Martin allowed only 2 walks in 2 innings of relief.
