Some news from Eastern Ontario fastball leagues:

Upper Ottawa Valley Men's Fastball League:

Micksburg, ON Twins (#1) will be facing Shawville, QC Hursty's Bar (#2) in
the best-of-seven final, starting Monday September 13th.  Micksburg pitcher
Corey Costello had four victories for Micksburg in the semi-finals in their
4 games to 1 series win over defending champions Beachburg, ON NRTco.
Costello allowed only one run in the four games he pitched.  Mark Wright had
all four pitching victories for Shawville in their 4 games to 1 series win
over Campbell's Bay, QC Royals.  Dave Keon and Todd Fraser each contributed
with two home runs.

Manotick Lomor Printers (#1) are currently up 2 games to 1 over Fitzroy
Harbour WC Electric (#4) in their best-of-five semi-final series.  Dave
Nicholson has both pitching wins for Lomor.  Mike "Pudge" Branchaud had two
home runs, including a walk-off two run shot to win the game and seal the
game 3 victory.  Manotick were also winners of the 18th Annual Senior
(Masters) tournament held on Labour Day weekend in North Bay, ON.  Bud
Hanlon had the pitching victory in WC Electric's game 1 win.

Harbour leads 1-0)
Game 2: Fitzroy Harbour 2 at Manotick 3, (8 innings) Wednesday September 1,

(Manotick leads 2-1)
Game 4: Manotick at Fitzroy Harbour, Wednesday September 15, 8:00PM

necessary)

Kanata Team Easton (#3) lead the Stittsville 56ers (#2) 2 games to 1 in
their best-of-five semi-final series.  Dan Konkle has both pitching
victories for Team Easton.  John Craig had the pitching victory in game 1
for Stittsville.  All games in this series are being played at the
Stittsville diamond.

Game 1: Kanata 1 at Stittsville 7, Wednesday August 25, 8:30PM (Stittsville
leads 1-0)
Game 2: Stittsville 3 vs Kanata 7 (in Stittsville), Wednesday September 1,
8:30PM (Series tied 1-1)
Game 3: Kanata 5 at Stittsville 4, Wednesday September 8, 8:30PM (Team
Easton leads 2-1)
Game 4: Stittsville vs Kanata (in Stittsville), Wednesday September 15,

Winners of these series will face-off in a best-of-five final.

The Ottawa Valley Raiders were regular season champions of the eight-team
Ottawa RA League and defeated the Atlantic Storm 2 games to 0 in the playoff
final.


North Leeds Fastball League:

Seeley's Bay were regular season champions of the eight-team North Leeds
League and defeated Newboro Rideau Insurance 3 games to 1 in the
best-of-five playoff final.
