Glencoe , On.

         The Glencoe Astros advanced to the St.Thomas and District Men's 
Fastball Playoff Finals after defeating the Highgate Rock by a score of 3-2 
last night. With the win Glencoe defeats Highgate 3 games to 1 in the best 
of 5 series.  Shaun Winship got the win pitching a 3 hitter while striking 
out 6.  Ben Blonde took the hard luck loss pitching a seven hit, seven 
strike out game.  Highgate took a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the 7th 
inning trying to force a 5th game tonight in Highgate.  Glencoe's first 2 
hitters reached on infield errors then Astros centerfielder Ryan Wolfe 
stroked what appeared to be a single but the ball took a huge bounce over 
the leftfielders head scoring the 2 base runners and Wolfe for the strange 
come from behind win. No error was given to the leftfielder as he had no 
chance on the play so Wolfe was credited with an inside the park 3 run 
homerun.  The series featured great pitching on both sides.

Glencoe will now play the winner of the other semi-final between the 
Alvinston Indians and the Union Storm.  Alvinston is currently leading the 
series 2 games to none.  Game 3 is tonight in Union at 8:00pm..
