Here is the final wrap up for the 2004 fastpitch season in Rockford,
IL. The Blackhawk Athletic Club sponsored two teams, again, for this
summer. The Pride play at the senior level and the second team,
Blackhawks, (made up primarily of Rock Valley College students) played at
the intermediate level.
The BHAC Blackhawks team finished with a 4-20 record, but all the players
had a good time with the game and it was an enjoyable summer helping coach
them. This team was made up primarily of Rock Valley College students and
athletes, with most of them their first exposure to fastpitch
softball. The team had a few veterans of the game sprinkled in with this
group to help them into the transition of the game.
The following should be recognized for their support with this team:
- Billy Kulpa and Paul Boyd for organizing most of the RVC students and
keeping the team going all summer long.
- Larry Frazier, who served as our field manager, between his busy work
schedule with the Oracle Corporation.
- Chuck Lockinger, longtime fastpitch supporter in Northern, IL. for
sponsoring the team in the Dick Tracy Tournament.
- The Blackhawk Athletic Club for sponsoring the team this summer, as
without their sponsorship this past summer would not be possible.
We had many players get exposed to the game this summer, but here are the
players that played most of the season or came on board late in the season.
The roster included the following players:
Paul Boyd, 28 (RVC Student)
Billy Kulpa, 21 (RVC, Student)
