Hutt powers A's over JacksABRAM-VILLAGE - Kirby Hutt scored the game's
eventual winning run and drove in another as the Alberton Arms Pub
Athletics collected their 19th win of the season Monday night with a 3-0
decision over the Wellington Arsenault Sawmill Jacks.

The Source for Sports Men's Intermediate Fast Pitch league game was played
at Evangeline school field in Abram-Village. It was played as a four point game

Hutt (2-3, two doubles, run scored, RBI), Kyle Fraser (1-4, RBI), Chris
Avery (1-3) and Chad Rennie (1-3, two stolen bases) led the A's at the dish.

For the Jacks, Lucas Arsenault (1-2), Jamie Perry (1-2), Jeff Richard (1-3,
stolen base) and Joey Caissie (0-2, walk) were tops.

Winning pitcher Mitch Hardy went five innings, allowing two hits, no runs,
one walk and

fanning nine batters. Chad Rennie pitched the sixth, walking one, allowing
a hit, before the game was called in the top of the seventh due to darkness.

Losing pitcher Neil Arsenault pitched six innings, allowing three runs
while scattering six hits over six innings of work, walking two and
striking out six batters, including the side in the second inning. Jamie
Perry pitched to two batters , getting both out, in the seventh before the
umpire called the game because of darkness.

The loss (which counts as two losses) by the Jacks almost certainly sets
the playoff positions for the year end tournament in Summerside this
weekend. With no make up games scheduled, Wellington will finish no better
then fifth spot, just 0.11 percentage points (or one win) behind the
Summerside Twins (depending on the Twins' result Monday in a doubleheader
against the Kinkora O'Shea's Pub and Eatery Hitmen). If the Twins won or
lost both games, they would get fourth spot.

No details of the game being played at Queen Elizabeth Park's VIV Field
were available.(Pat Healey)
