This event will allow the ISF to showcase the talent of female softball
players at the college/university level while obtaining a post-secondary
education. It is also hoped that softball can secure a place on the menu
of future World University Games. Participation in this event is also
important for Softball Canada who has the chance to evaluate the athletes
that are developing with aspirations to make the Senior National Team.
Coach Murphy also stated: "Participating in the first competition is
always special as we are the pioneers that will be looked at for starting
the process and development to secure a place for our sport in the World
University Games. If successful in being placed on the menu, female
softball players will be given yet another multi-sport event to compete in,
which is extremely important in gaining international experience."
