 AAU - Additional Information

Orlando, FL

Here is some additional information about the AAU Men's International
Fastpitch Tournament at Disney, January 20-23.

There are 28 teams entered, broken into 7 pools of 4-teams per
pool for round robin play.

Following round robin play, teams will be ranked 1-4 in each
pool. Then all teams will be ranked 1-28 as follows:

Pool Champs 1-7
Pool Runners up 8-14
3rd place 15-21
4th place 22 - 28

The tournament tie breaker rule will be used to seed the teams
in above groupings. With no head to head games involved, the
first factor is pool play record followed by fewest runs allowed
in all pool games.

The top 24 teams go into a single elimination bracket for the
championship with each pool champ and the best runner up, receiving
first round byes. The lower 4 teams will enter a 4-team consolation
round. Bracket play begins Saturday, 11 AM with 4-games each
at 11, 1, 3 and 5. The consolation bracket games will be played
Saturday at 11, 1 and 5. Sunday's game times are 9AM, 11 AM
and the championship at 1 PM. All times are Eastern Standard
Time.

The primary reason for a 24-4 split is a 24 team bracket allows
a bye for all the pool champs but a 28-team bracket does not.
Therefore, an incentive to win the pool.

Jim Flanagan will again be broadcasting select games via Internet
Streaming. The actual Streaming schedule will be announced later.
