Men's Softball Day 3
Monday August 16th, 2005
Rambler Park

Day 3 Highlights
British Columbia vs Alberta
British Columbia defeated Alberta in a nail 
bitter this morning at Rambler Park
 Alberta took 
a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning
 Daniel 
Moer (Calgary, AB) extended the lead with a 2 run 
home run in the top of the 3rd
 Tyson Barkman 
(Abbotsford, BC) narrowed the gap to 3-2 with a 2 
run home run in the bottom of the 3rd
Tyler Hagan 
(Richmond, BC) knocked in the go ahead and 
eventual winning run in the bottom of the 6th
 BC 
defeated New Brunswick 7-5 later in the day to 
remain undefeated after 3 days of competition with a 5-0 record
Manitoba vs Newfoundland
Newfoundland took a 2-0 lead early in the 1st 
inning
 Manitoba responded with 7 runs
 After 3 
innings of play Manitoba was up 7-2
 Josh Lee 
(Goulds, NL) hit a 3 run home run to bring 
Newfoundland within 2
 Nathan Friesen (Winkler, 
MB) hit a solo shot for Manitoba giving them an 
8-6 lead going into the 5th inning
 Manitoba 
prevailed 13-6 in a slug fest that featured 5 home runs
Alberta vs Quebec
Brandon Gay (Calgary, AB) opened the scoring in 
the bottom of the 1st with an RBI triple, after 1 
inning Alberta led 2-0
 In the top of the 2nd 
Philippe Paré (Bécaucour, QC) hit a solo shot for 
Quebec
 Paré was at it again in the top of the 
3rd giving his team the lead hitting a 3 RBI 
double
 In the bottom of the 3rd Gay hit a solo 
shot bringing Alberta within 1 run (4-3)
 In the 
top of the 5th Quebec tied the game with a 
Mathieu Vermette (Saint-Charles, QC) RBI single 
(5-5), then took the lead when Étienne Patry 
(Saint-Charles, QC) scored
 In the bottom of the 
7th Alberta tied the game on a Gay RBI single, 
then won it when Bennett Wilson (Edmonton, AB) scored on a wild pitch
Saskatchewan vs Ontario
Saskatchewan took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 
1st
 Ontario scored 2 runs in the bottom half of 
the inning to take the lead
 Saskatchewan tied 
the game in the 2nd inning off a Matt Bonin 
(Marcelin, SK) RBI single
 Ontario scored what 
would be the winning run in the bottom of the 4th 
via a sacrifice fly ball by Andrew Naracsik 
(Otterville, ON) that allowed Andy Skelton (Scarborough, ON) to score.
